 2016 Preview

Shades Valley finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 2-8 record. Last year Shades Valley just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 6A region six with a 2-4 region record.

The Mounties hope to rebound after a down year. Last season they struggled winning just two games which followed a 9-3 record in 2014.

Since 2010, Shades Valley has gone a combined 29-36. Their 45.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Shades Valley has managed to compile a record of 138-140. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 6A and 188th in the AHSAA.

The Mounties are led by head coach David Partridge who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 2-8 record in his first season at Shades Valley. The Mounties have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Partridge.

Coach Partridge's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 2-8 (20.0%).

The Shades Valley Mounties will play in Class 6A region five during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Mounties remain in 6A but move from region six over to region five.

With a little luck and some improvement, the Mounties could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season. Shades Valley came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

The Mounties open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Center Point on Friday, August 26 at Bowman Field. Last year the Center Point Eagles finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 6A region six. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to McAdory by a score of 35-10.

Shades Valley and Center Point have met a total of 27 times on the football field. The Mounties have a 18-8-1 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2015 with Shades Valley winning by a score of 27-14.
